In one of the many conversations held within the confines of the UR office where I work at, we had a discussion of the usage of a macro lens and how it could possible be simulated. A lot of photos I have taken so far has been based on this conversation. Out of all the suggestions, using a high zoom lense (in my case, a Sigma 28-300 mm) seemed the best way to try out these loose thoughts. By no means am I endorsing this type of lense, it is something that was readily available to me without the need to purchase anything. Below are some examples of this experiment, but there are some points that need to be taken into consideration to help dissect the photos.

  1. I am by no means an expert or a professional, so be kind and remember in the effort of learning this was an experiment.

  2. All photos have been taken using the same lens: Sigma 28-300 1:3.5-6.3

  3. All photos are taken using Adobe Camera Raw 2.1

  4. Up until yesterday 6-29-2007, I had been using Adobe RGB as the color profile, if anyone has a better suggestion to a better profile so my photo colors do not get washed out when I upload, please feel free to comment
